How To Get and Maintain Healthy Hair

Every day I get asked by clients both old and new how to get healthy hair and maintain it.  Healthy hair is easy to achieve IF you invest in it.

If you have been following me then you have probably heard me mention the importance of having a hair care regimen.  This is very necessary to achieve your hair health goals!

Today I want to offer you sound advice from a professional standpoint on how to successfully care for your hair!

The first step to healthy hair is a basic one.  You need to get a protein treatment and trim EVERY 6-8 weeks.  The only exception to this rule is if you have a protective style during the normal scheduled time of your trim and treatment.  If you have braids, crochet braids, a sew-in, or etc. once that style is removed your first appointment that follows should include those two key items.

The next step is a very pertinent one!  You need to have a well balanced diet. Believe it or not diet matters not only for health reasons but it also plays a direct part in the health of your hair.
DRINK WATER!! Your body needs water for its general processes throughout the day.  It also needs water to hydrate your hair and scalp. At minimum you should drink 64 ounces of water a day.  If you exercise you need even more because you expel water during your workouts through perspiration.

What you eat matters as well.
Here is a list of the top vitamins essential to hair growth and health:
– Vitamin C
– B Vitamins
– Biotin
– Niacin
– Vitamin E
– Vitamin A
– Vitamin D
– Iron
– Magnesium
– Protein
– Zinc
If you don’t feel like you’re getting enough of these vitamins in your daily diet then I suggest trying Nature’s Bounty Hair Skin & Nails Gummies. They can be purchased at your local pharmacy or grocery store.

The third and final step is often neglected. The products you use at home matter!
Ladies & gentlemen you need to invest in good products to use at home for maintenance. Keeping up with your diet, treatment, and trims is great but if you are using cheap products with sulfates, alcohols, and other harsh chemicals you’re working against yourself.
I’m huge advocate of Influance Hair Care Products.  I personally use them on myself as well as my clients.  They are a black owned hair company that continues to invest in the research and development of the best products.
I highly suggest the Influance Natural Necessities Bundle to get your collection for healthy at home hair care started. It includes some essential items that are pertinent to keeping your hair healthy, nourished, and growing.

Items included in the bundle:
  • Influance Honey Almond Shampoo & Conditioner (sulfate free)
  • Influance Honey Almond Styling Foam
  • Influance Natural Oil
  • Influance Moisture Lock with Shea Butter

Great tips! I need to start coming to you now that my hair is cut & im trying to regrow it the healthy way. Will this line of products work for low porosity hair? That’s one of the main reasons I have issues keeping my hair moisturized. I have to steam for products to get in but I don’t make a lot of time to steam my hair every time I want to style it.

Yes ma’am the moisturizing shampoo & conditioner would be a great addition to your product line up. I also suggest the multiplex conditioner as a deep conditioning treatment when you’re using your steamer.
