When I’m out and about on a regular day running errands or headed to work more than likely it’s with a fresh face. I love makeup but it is time consuming so I usually only put it on if I’m headed to an event, church, or I feel like sprucing myself up. Since I’m wearing my fresh face more than makeup investing in good skincare products is essential to me! Before I get into telling you what I use some of you are probably wondering what my skin looks like before you spend your time reading this blog. So here goes…. In the picture below I am headed to the gym capturing a before the gym selfie prior to ruining my hair with sweat.
This is a regular morning look for me on a Monday before I hit the gym. No filter! Just good sunlight so, I had to snap a picture and capture this moment.
Now of course this was before COVID-19 slid in and ruined my daily gym routine….. But let me not get into that. It’ll become a whole rant and neither of us have time for that. Well, in the meantime since we’re all practicing social distancing there is no time like the present to figure out your skincare regimen! If you spend the time doing it now when you’re finally able to go back outside you’ll be able to capture the fresh face glow you worked on while being “safe at home” during the pandemic.
Step 1: WATER!! I can’t say this enough HYDRATION IS KEY! My water goal daily is 1 gallon. Yes…… You read that right 1 gallon of water! I know you’re thinking “that’s too much! I’ll be in the bathroom all day drinking that much water.” Well technically you’re not wrong BUT if you’re quarantined like me you have plenty of time! If you’re an essential worker I salute you and thank you for your service but guess what? You have the time too! Going to the bathroom isn’t as bad as you’re thinking. Your body will eventually adjust to your new water intake. I promise! To make it easier to meet that 1 gallon goal I bought a cute jug to motivate me to drink. I fill it up once a day and drink from it all day until I’m finished.
Now that I’ve gotten that part out of the way I’ll start listing the products! Before I do, here’s a link to get 20% off your product purchase:
Step 2: Cleansing
When it comes to cleansing my face my goal is twice a day! Now there are some days I don’t meet the twice a day goal but, more that not I do! I usually swap between these two cleansers below. Each of the cleansers can also be used as a mask by leaving it on for up to 3 minutes before rinsing it off.
The Clear Skin Cleansing Bar:
The Even Tone Cleaning Bar :
Step 3: Clarifying
After I rinse my face I clarify my skin using the Clear & Even Tone Clarifying Glycolic Pads. After wipe my face with the pad I usually wait a couple minutes and let it absorb.
Step 4: Moisturize
Now….. I’m big on moisture so I have a few favs that I use for this! In the morning I apply the Radiant & Bright Glowing Moisturizer first then follow it up with the Complexion Protection Moisturizer because it has a built in SPF. At night I use the Mega Moisture Illuminating Night Cream. Its my new fav! It recently came in my beauty box I get quarterly from Urban Skin Rx and I am in love with the way my skin feels after I use it.
Step 5: Mask
Periodically I do an additional mask. I know I know I should be doing a mask once a week BUT I figure since I let my cleansers sit for a couple minutes as a mask during my really busy weeks I’m good (I think, lol). When I do find the time I do use an additional mask after the cleansing step. That mask is the 2-in-1 Pumpkin Pore Detox Mask & Scrub. I like the way it heats up when I apply it to my skin. Tip: I use a clean foundation brush to apply my mask so that I don’t get mask all over my fingers and hands. I feel like it helps me save product.
That pretty much sums up my main skin care regimen. Simple & Easy! Right?
I am a subscriber of the quarterly beauty box through Urban Skin Rx so, I have a pretty large collection of Urban Skin Care products now and it is continuing to grow. This is also a way for me to get new products before they launch which I love! I do however suggest that you take the skin care quiz if you aren’t quite sure about your skin.
I generally have pretty sensitive skin but, so far these products have done well for me. I’ve been using this skincare line for over a year now and I don’t have any complaints! I started out with one of the kits to lower my cost of purchasing products one by one based on the suggestions I received after the skincare quiz. (Afterpay is a life saver too! You can split your payment into 4 increments so you don’t have to pay it all at once.)
Also, I did not get paid for this post but, you can tell Urban Skin Care to run me my check if you would like! Trust me I won’t be mad if you do! Lol
Remember: Good skin is the foundation for great makeup so invest in your skin! You won’t be mad that you did. I’m not mad that I did!
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. Be safe out there during this pandemic!
